Sure enough, big or small, people had always been unable to see beyond Steve’s appearance. The difference was that, now, more than his own reputation was at stake if someone succeeded.

“Maybe I don’t want them to,” Steve said.

“Why? You got nothing to be afraid of. It’s just you who thinks there’s something wrong with you.”

“That wouldn’t be very grateful of me. Dr. Erskine was a genius.”

“Right.” Bucky snorted. “I remember the face you used to get when you thought someone was looking down on you. Always got your guard up before anyone could throw a punch. Not all the girls hated you, y’know. You were just so sure they did, you didn’t give them a chance to show otherwise.” He took a long pull from his cigarette. The dusk was getting dense enough for the end of his smoke to glow red. “You still make that face, Steve. All the time. You ain’t through being scared, you just found yourself another reason.”

Avengers FF`s.

"The Twice-Told Tale ", a great idea of a plot, somewhat rushed and mediocre fabric. Tony doesn`t hit it off with his childhood times idol right away. One of the reasons is Steve knew his uncle and says Tony resembles him a lot. They end up becoming friends, partners and finally lovers. And then Tony falls back in time to a pre-Rebirth day and discovers it wasn`t his uncle Steve knew and loved once... but himself))
A lovely set up, but too little details and the fabric`s not thick enought. Still lovely.

"День памяти", и ещё один фичок из серии "Рамлоу ведет себя, как приличный человек". Броку поручают аклиматизацию агента после криосна, и он обнаруживает, что агент - человек. До такой степени, что они успевают трахнуться до конца отпуска. После миссии агента обнуляют и это... просто не порядок)))

"just in it for the game ", an adorable and fun little story, post-Ragnarok and before IW. Loki stays on the ship, and the first night Thor stays to sleep in the same bed as him. Which gives birth to speculations among the rest of the passingers. Loki`s having fun, Thor accepts the challenge, and one after another, the speculations become reality. Light, funny and nice, this is a pleasant story.

"Arenas Temporis", I don`t really like this author and all her other works were bland and boring. But this one somehow managed it. Great main idea and an amazing conclusion, the flaw is pleasantly unexpected. The story is completely sexless though, barely a T.
Thor lives many lifes, and each time the memory of all the previous incarnations comes to him while he grows up. Scenarious of his life differ in some things, but one thing remains constant - he always has Loki. As a brother, lover, rival, emeny even, but Loki is always there. They are always the same age, sometimes they grow up together, sometimes apart, but always meet eventually. Except in a life Thor lives currently. Something went wrong and Thor is already two thousand years old, when finally, Loki appears, only 200 years old, a heavily abused slave and in no condition to ever accept Thor`s affection. But what seems to be the problem, also leads to the end of Thor`s lonely relivings. A lovely finale.

"Bound", a small, but really good story. Aesir capture a Jotun mage, bind his magic and Thor uses him to spy on their enemy at day, and for the joys of the flesh at night. And gets, what he deserves tenfolds, when it is revealed, that his captive isn`t as bound, or a captive for that matter. A great plot. And nice kinky bits. “I see now the pleasure of exploring a helpless body.”

"The Gentle Heart (Is a Savage Leash) ", a very short, but nice fic. Thor finds Loki, but he was bound by sex magic, and since Thor killed the caster the moment he arrived, the spell-leash was transfered to him.. and is unbreakable.

"Laufey's Mate/ Ice Maiden/ Laufey's Bride", starts as a stoopid rape-fic but... turns out to be good in manyy things. Not very graphic, or exciting descriptions of sex, but the main story is great, the characters are lovable, all of them, and it has inventive and reach description of the culture and social structure of the Jotunheim. Also the thing is quite phylosophical, and doesn`t even have a main pairing in the end.

"The size of perfection", a great Stucky story of WWII period. Steve shyly admits once, that he isn`t going to submit any girl to what the serum has left him with in a genital department, and Bucky can`t help, but be curious :3 That leads down the dark path.

"Heart, Have No Pity on this House of Bone", an amazing story. Easily the best, most authentic work on WWII Stucky. Not even a Stucky, more an unrequoted love. The author asks a question, why Bucky has a rank of a Seargent, when he ships out to Europe? And answers that.

X-men fiction.

"Replay", a very good fiction, witty and funny. Literally a replay of the first class events. Old Erik ends up destroying the world, and old Charles sends his conscious back in time in his younger body. He chooses a very interesting way of stopping Erik from becoming a mass-murderer. By seducing him, of course.
What he doesn`t expect though is falling hard and fast himself.

thehoyden - the author on AO3, everything is good? extremely likable characters and dynamics. The best is "From Westminster With Love"(where Charles is a very powerful telepath with PTSD, living in a bunker and working for MI6, and Erik is a CIA agent, that Mycroft call in, when they need mutant team for the mission), "X Marks the Spot"(Indiana Johns type of story, where Erik almost kidnaps archeology professor and they go on an adventure of looking for Tesseract and hunting Shaw in the process) and "The Tale of X"(a small fic, where Charles is a japanese noble recluse, and Erik is a tengu, attracted by a gift left in compassion).

"The Attempt", Charles notices, that Erik loves him not only platonically, and though he completely stright, he decides to try and give Erik something good in his life, the reason to dare to hope. But good intentions and love, or not, going against his sexuality prooves not that easy. In a nutshell this is a story I needed for that fandom. And it is good, though somewhat vague and not totally explained. But Charles does try.

"Enigma", a rare T-rated fic I decided to read, because of the description. This time it`s Erik, who goes back in time to fix things, because old Charles dies of illness before he could say goodbye. But the catch is that the mutant, performing the transfer, says every one of her clients said, that they got what they wanted, but lost the thing they most loved. Also the point in time is chosen by her gift, not someone`s will. And Erik finds himself as a child in from of the gates of the concentration camp? but with memories and power of his older self. And he has to live.
A moderately imaginative plot, it was a fun and enthralling read. With idea, however weak. The strong point is that the thing the old Magneto loved most and had to loose, was his anger, the driving force of his original self. And he had his parents for awhile. But the weak point is Charles died in his early 40-ties, and Erik had to live the rest of his life without him. And being offered the chance to relive his life again, he chooses to leave well enough alone, because Charles died being who he chose to be, and nothing Erik could do would protect Charles from that. And Erik decided to respect that.
It was a very inspiringly wise read, though a heartbreaking one. How am I always missing a MCD warning? HOOOOW?
Need to read more of this author, just WATCH THE WARNINGS. I`d still read it, just would be prepared to relive death as well.

"Father Charles", absolutely amazing four story arc. An AU, where Charles is a young priest and Erik works with the Immigrant Help. Absolutely the most thought through and wisest of the Priest-AUs. Everyone has their abilities, just less pronounced and it takes time to develop those. The story is amazing. A bit on the angst-fetish side, but it is too good to be spoiled by that. I`d prefer it more explicit. As it is, it`s more on R side, with just one truly graphic scene in the last story, closer to the end. LOved it!!
